E-shop: what you need before you launch
Products, photos, shipping, payments, legal pages: the checklist before building an e-shop, with no surprises.
An e-shop is the most demanding web project: it is not enough to look good, it must work. Before you start the build, there are five things you need to be ready to provide.
First, the product list with proper descriptions and prices, VAT included. Second, product photos on a clean background: in an online store the photograph is the salesperson. Third, the shipping policy: weights, zones, charges. Fourth, the payment method: cards through a provider, cash on delivery, or bank transfer. Fifth, the legal pages: terms of use, privacy policy, returns policy.
These are not bureaucracy, they are foundations. A customer who cannot find clear shipping or returns terms closes the tab. Google also ranks stores with complete and clear information better.
At the studio I have built e-shops for clothing, food and industrial goods. If you are thinking of opening your own, send me your product list and I will tell you what you need and what it will cost.
