What a brand designer does and when you need one

Aggelos Kourtidis1 min read

A brand designer does not just make the logo: they build the whole image of a business at every point of customer contact.

The term brand designer sounds modern, but the job is old: making a business look serious, consistent and recognisable in everything the customer touches. From the sign and the menu to the website and the Instagram profile.

The difference from a plain graphic designer is scope. A brand designer does not answer "I need a poster", they answer "I want my business to look trustworthy". For that, they work on typography, colour, tone of voice, photography and the rules that keep all of it consistent over the years.

When do you need one? When you open a new business, when your image has been built piece by piece and does not match, when you enter a new market, or when your documents and social feeds look like they come from five different companies.

That is exactly my work at the studio: visual identities for businesses with character, since 2020. If you feel your image has fallen behind, tell me what you do and let's talk.
