Web designer or ready template: which to choose

Aggelos Kourtidis1 min read

A ready template is cheap and fast. Custom design is yours alone. When does each one pay off?

The question is fair: why pay a web designer when ready templates exist? The answer is never "because templates are bad". It is a matter of goal.

A template fits when you need something simple, quickly, on a small budget, and you do not mind looking like other pages. The problem is that the same template is used by thousands of businesses, and visitors notice: the same structure, the same gaps, the same generic feel.

A web designer brings what a template cannot: the right hierarchy for your own content, an identity that matches your print materials, speed, SEO from day one, and someone who answers when something goes wrong. After launch, the difference shows in conversions: how many visitors call, message or order.

If you are not sure which path fits your case, tell me what your business does and what you want the page to achieve. I will tell you honestly whether you need custom design or a simpler solution is enough.
